Remembrance Day Comes to a Close

Journal Entry: Wed Nov 11, 2009, 2:10 PM

And so it ends. However, as a wonderful finish to my day, my 12 year old brother showed me a video on youtube that his teacher showed their class today. It has an amazing emotional impact. Truly it does. Please, take the few minutes out of your day to watch it. It's not your typical slideshow or interview you would normally see. It's worth it to see it.

On to other news, it's Vetran's week! Also known as Remembrance Day. Now, this is a big thing for me. My great-grandfather was a WWII vetran, my cousin is training with the army, I have a few friends in army cadets and my mom's boyfriend's brother is in army reserves. So this is a big day for me. I hope you will all hold to spirit and remember all those who died in the wars, and even all those who fought. On Nov 11th, wear the poppy guys. And if you can, join me in this. I will be printing a picture of my great-grandpa to pin into the middle of my poppy. If you know of a vetran from the war, carry them with you. Honor what they have done. and hey, if you can, send me pictures. Of your personalized poppy, or of anything having to do with Remembrance Day (pictures or poems) that you know of on dA.

However, it was needed. So, some of you may know that I'm in loooove with a German group called Cinema Bizarre.

One of their songs>> [link]

Well recently I found out that one of the members (Luminor) had to permanently leave due to "health reasons". Regardless of what that was, I was kinda sad. Now their guitarist has brought in a new member by the name of Romeo.

Luminor's goodbye message>> [link]

See, Luminor's position was keyboarder and backup singer. However, Romeo doesn't sing in Cinema Bizarre. I just found out that Romeo's old band was called From Outset Crisis and he was lead singer! He doesn't want to fully replace Luminor. He wants instead to leave some bit of legacy with him.

Sooo....I encourage you to check them out! They just released in America in August, but they've been in Germany for 4 years now.

Hey guys. Well it's that weekend again and I decided I wanted to write something nice, share a few stories to really bring about the spirit of this holiday.

1. I was at my dad's house on saturday and we had a great time. On sunday, Skye was going to come sleep over but we had no room and her mom isn't comfortable with my mom's bf. So, both of us were extremely down. About 15 minutes later, she called back saying that her grandmother, who was having 12 extra people at her house that night, was willing to let me stay the night with her. The kindness that some people share really does amaze me.

2. Another story about kindness, but this one's not mine. At We Day we met a guy named Spencer West who has no bottom half. He was in Kenya building a school and they had to go up this hill, shaking hands with all the community members that were lined up. He was finding it difficult to do that while in the wheelchair. He felt something grab the back of the chair and looked behind him to see a little 6 year old boy who had grabbed on and was pushing him. By the time he reached the top there were 5 boys helping him up that hill.

Now, I wanted to make a list of things I'm thankful for. I'll keep it short at 10 things.

1. I am thankful to have life and to be healthy.

2. I am thankful for my family who is there to shelter me and love me.

3. I am thankful for my friends. I could not be who I am today without them.

4. I am thankful for the church which has helped me to constantly better myself.

5. I am thankful for all the opportunities that I have in life.

6. I am thankful to be able to help others when they need it.

7. I am thankful for having a strong will so I don't fall into things because of other people.

8. I am thankful for having the chance to raise, protect and teach my siblings.

9. I am thankful for my education which has helped me in many aspects of life.

10. I am thankful for this planet and all the people in it, whether they make mistakes or not and the concept of forgiveness.

So I would like to know, what are you thankful for right now? For home and family? For toys and games? I encourage you all to share your thoughts and opinions with me, because the more you express a love, the stronger it grows and the more you can appreciate it.

My Weekend + Monday-People From School Must Read!

Journal Entry: Mon Oct 5, 2009, 2:19 PM

Wow! That was an adventure and a half!

:bulletyellow:Friday:bulletyellow:

I went to the Alliance Against Violence concert! We got to see the mayor, two different breakdancing crews, first seperately then competing. We also saw two girls sing, a guy on youtube by the name of Suspect rapping (he's awesome, go look it up!) and a few people reading poems/telling their stories. Finally, Danny Fernandes finished off the night. Truthfully, half the reason I go is for his background dancer Mark. If you ever watch him live, and maybe in his vids but I'm not sure, it's the thinner of the two dancers and at the moment he has longer hair.

:bulletyellow:Saturday:bulletyellow:

I went to :iconflaringfox:'s sweet 16 with :iconbahamut357:! Seriously, with the 8 or 9 of us that were there, all we needed was root beer, manga and a nintendo 64. Everyone was very fun and happy!

:bulletyellow:Sunday:bulletyellow:

Down in Toronto for Me to We prep with :iconanimeaddictedkid:. It's a Free The Children event and it's in it's 3rd year running. I met up with a girl I hadn't seen in 7 years. Also, when we came back around 7 30, we had to stop back at my house because my mom finally had her baby! Chantelle Helena Esme Sonier. I've posted a pic of her, but you'll have to forgive the quality.[link] Our camera broke so it's a webcam pic. She was 7'11 and 21 inches long. Soooo cute!

:bulletyellow:Monday:bulletyellow:

The actual Me to We event! :iconanimeaddictedkid: and I woke up at 4 am, was there by 6 15. People started arriving at 7 ish. We had to volunteer for 3-ish hours, then we were told to be seat fillers. Pretty much, we sat in the actual concert area until other people got back. The cool part was that Justin Bieber played One Time acoustic and we were not even 5 feet from him. Then we went back into the concert later. We got to hear from Elie Wiesel (Holocaust survivor and author of Night) as well as Robert F Kennedy Jr, Mark and Craig Kielburger, Spencer West and many others as Ben Mulrony hosted. Also playing music were Louise Kent, The Jonas Brothers and Hedley!

So, there's my psycho crazy I'm-going-to-lose-my-voice weekend!
